Flugzeuge und Katzen wecken uns um 6:30 Uhr, ein Geheule, ein Miauen und ein Kratzen. Immerhin verursachen mir die Katzen keine Allergie. Sie dürfen ins Wohnzimmer, der Futteraitomat spendet aber erst um 6:45 Uhr.
Gestern haben wir aus Chicago die Rückmeldung zu unserer Anfrage zu einer Führung durch die American Greeter erhalten. Soby Charlene, Co-Chair des DANK, wird uns führen.

We match you with a Greeter based on your neighborhood/interest choices; we try to find a volunteer who can highlight at least one, if not all, of your interests. Please realize there are no ‚themed tours,‘ but your Greeter will do their best to showcase Chicago to you.
Chicago Greeters are civic-minded volunteers; they are „friends“ selected for their enthusiasm and love of the city of Chicago, not professional tour guides. They’re excited to meet you and help make your visit to Chicago more memorable and personal. Most visits are planned as walking visits, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Chicago Greeter enforces a strict no-tipping policy. Please refrain from smoking on a Greeter visit.
Chicago Greeter is a free service to all visitors, except expenses related to shopping, dining, and entry fees. Private transportation, home visits, and tipping are not appropriate. Your Greeter is ready to welcome you to Chicago, no matter the weather. They will share their excitement for one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. During your two-hour walk, your Greeter will introduce you to a unique neighborhood you might not have explored otherwise. The length of your visit is flexible — feel free to adjust the time together based on your interests. Your Greeter can also chat with you about your plans, answer questions, and share insights about local life. By the end, you’ll have discovered a side of Chicago that just might inspire you to come back again.

Luke und Emma besuchen uns im Bett mit Hörbuch und Einhörnern.
Der spätere Einkauf bei Groceries stimmt uns auf Halloween ein. Ericka und Simon lauschen dem Gottesdienst im Fernsehen, die Kinder spielen vor der Tür und wir gehen Einkaufen.
Mit dem Woody-Board lasse ich mich auf den Wellen zum Strand treiben. Herrlich! Auch immer ist begeistert von den Wellen. Der Strand ist heute Nachmittag wie auch die Parkplätze randvoll. Gut, das ich mit dem Fahrrad gefahren bin. Einige Minuten später kommen auch Dimon und Emma an. Auch sie haben das Fahrrad auf Drängen von Emma genommen. Ericka kommt alleine mit dem Auto, sie muss das Gepäck Transport, Stühle, Strandmuschel, Spielgerät, Handtüchet, Essen und Trinken, und dieSoody-Boards.
